I'm delighted to extend a warm welcome to you as you explore our church's website! It's truly an honor that you've taken the time to learn more about who we are and what we stand for.
My name is Rodolfo Alejandro Paredes, affectionately known as Pr. Rudy among our church family. Since January 2023, it's been my joy and privilege to serve as the pastor of this wonderful congregation and also to be part of the Boulder City community. While we may be connecting virtually for now, I eagerly anticipate the day when we can meet face-to-face at one of our church's services or events.
As a pastor for almost 5 years, I cherish the opportunity to build personal relationships with each member of our community. My two primary goals in ministry are to introduce people to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to serve others in any way I can. Biography
Pr. Rodolfo Alejandro Paredes was born into a Seventh-day Adventist family in northern California, with roots tracing back to the beautiful country of El Salvador in Central America. Growing up in Sacramento after moving from his hometown of San Francisco, Pr. Rodolfo was nurtured in a bilingual environment, fluently speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish alongside English. From his earliest years, Pr. Rodolfo's family instilled in him a deep devotion to Jesus Christ, nurturing his spiritual growth through daily intimacy with God and regular attendance at church. It was within the supportive embrace of his family and church community that Pr. Rodolfo's passion for ecclesiastical service began to bloom.
His journey into ministry took shape at the age of 8 when he delivered his first sermon during an oratory competition at his local church. This initial spark ignited a desire to share the message of Christ, leading him to preach regularly both within his home congregation and as a guest speaker at other Seventh-day Adventist churches. Pr. Rodolfo's call to pastoral ministry resounded when he was just 16 years old and was invited to be the guest speaker at youth week of prayer. Following his high school graduation from Franklin High School (Elk Grove, CA; 2013), Pr. Rodolfo embarked on a journey of academic and spiritual enrichment at Andrews University (Berrien Springs, MI) where he pursued a degree in Theology. Before departing for college, Pr. Rodolfo was ordained as a church elder by his home congregation, a testament to his early leadership and spiritual maturity. After over four years of college, Pr. Rodolfo graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology in 2018, poised to commence his ministry.
In July 2018, Pr. Rodolfo answered the call to serve as a Bible Worker at Woodland Hispanic SDA Church (Woodland, CA) before transitioning to the Nevada-Utah Conference of SDAs in March 2019. There he honed his pastoral skills as an Associate Pastor at the Price SDA Church (Price, UT) and the Provo SDA Church (Provo, UT). In April 2021, Pr. Rodolfo assumed the role of Associate Pastor at Maranatha Hispanic SDA Church (North Las Vegas, NV), the largest Hispanic congregation in the NV-UT Conference. Finally, in January 2023, Pr. Rodolfo was called to be the sole pastor of the Boulder City SDA Church (Boulder City, NV). Pr. Rodolfo's ministry is characterized by his unwavering commitment to preach and teach the Word of God, delivering Christ-centered sermons and thought-provoking Bible studies aimed at nurturing spiritual growth. Beyond the pulpit, he delights in fostering personal connections with his church members and the wider community.
Pr. Rodolfo is happily married to Erika G. Paredes, his source of inspiration and unwavering support in ministry. Although they do not yet have children, they are proud "fur parents" to Hazel, their beloved Dachshund. In his leisure time, Pr. Rodolfo enjoys playing and watching soccer, baseball, and football, as well as hanging out with his wife, and taking leisurely walks with Hazel. A self-declared "geek," he finds joy in immersing himself in the worlds of Batman, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings.
